Carmen Verdi
Logo Design
Work completed during employment at Pearl Marketing

Carmen Verdi is an artist based in Nashua NH. Using the art form of "lineillism" (an intricate and innovative technique that uses vertical lines to create an image), Carmen creates beautiful scenes, each with their own unique tale.
Using an original sketch provided by Carmen, I was able to create a heartfelt logo that reflected his story of breaking free from a dark place.

The Challenge
Turning a Story of Despair into a Tale of Liberation
Carmen came to us with a heartfelt story that he wanted to share with the world. Feeling trapped and coming from a dark place in his life, Carmen was searching for a logo that would best represent his artistry during this hard time. He had presented to us an original sketch similar to the logo above, with only one difference. His wrist was drawn out to be bound by chains, representative of Carmen's struggle.

We needed to find a solution that would portray Carmen's message in a positive light, while celebrating his freedom through art.
The Solution
Breaking Free From The Chains
After a thoughtful and eye-opening conversation with my team, we came up with a solution that would not alter Carmen's brand messaging, but rather tell his story in a positive light. We decided to have his wrist breaking free from the chains, in representation of escaping from the trials and tribulations Carmen was once bound by.

I digitally recreated his sketch piece by piece, while keeping in mind the conversation I had with both my team and Carmen. Similar to all of his artwork produced, I thought it would be meaningful to have parts of the logo comprised of thin lines, adding dimension to the piece.

The Outcome
A Happy Client and a Positive Brand Image
Carmen was very pleased with the final design (as seen above.) It is currently displayed on his website and will be utilized in various promotional materials, as stated by Carmen.
