Jeannotte's Market
Illustration
Work completed during employment at Pearl Marketing
Recognized by the Nashua Telegraph, and NH Grocers Association as Nashua’s oldest operating grocery store and deli market, Jeannotte’s Market continues to provide fresh produce to the New Hampshire community.
Reflecting on Jeannotte’s history and friendly atmosphere, I designed an illustration featuring Jeannotte’s very own deli market and previous owner Norman Jeannotte. This project presented me with an exciting opportunity to create a caricature of one of the store’s original owners and help locally advertise the store through a fun, vibrant illustration!
The Process
I began to research a variety of art styles and color palettes across a multitude of grocery themed illustrations. I searched for similarities throughout each image, and discovered how each element was carefully placed to become one cohesive design. I was extremely excited to begin the initial sketch of the store, and couldn't wait to start the design process!
All design elements were inspired by products within the store. I took photographs of the deli counter, various fruits, and vegetables as a reference for each illustration.

Sketching Norman Jeannotte
After careful study of an original photograph, I began to sketch out a caricature of Norman. With a welcoming smile and expressive features, I captured Norman's pride in continuing the legacy of providing friendly service and fresh produce to the town of Nashua, NH.
The final design was printed and placed as a window display in front of Jeannottes's grocery store and deli market. The illustration is still proudly displayed in Jeannottes's storefront.
